...unfinished business is an album of songs from the period 1973-74 re-recorded September and October 2001. This was the acoustic set that started us off as a band, recorded with the original emphasis on vocal harmonies and acoustic guitars. We have allowed ourselves some additional instrumentation, but some of the songs are presented in their original stark form.

Between 1975 and early 1978, Slender Loris toured the college circuit, supported major acts like Procul Harum, Curved Air and Mike Nesmith, and had weekly residencies at Birmingham’s Railway, Barrel Organ and The Imperial Hotel in Nottingham. These tracks were recorded in a variety of locations, from radio stations to people’s garages and larger recording studios. We have worked hard to optimise the sound of the old quarter inch reel-to-reel recordings , which retain the tight, highly strung urgency of the original performances.

Days Before the Fall is our latest album and has been recorded entirely anew over the last six months. Only a few of the songs have been heard outside a small circle of friends and at the occasional live gigs. We hope that the range of song writing here will find favour among the old fans and a newer audience.
This is very much a miscellany with every song a little universe of its own. We are proud to feature the vocals of Jenny Bolton on two of the tracks.

For fans of the old Loris in their heyday, this album is a must-have. Featuring another 14 songs to supplement Volume One, this album contains many classics of the late are including some old favourites like Squid, I’m Only Heavy and The Stockton Kiss. Four of the numbers have been taken from vinyl recordings of the period . Between them, Volumes One and Two include most of the good recordings from the old days, although we have some interesting live recordings ready to be cleaned up and committed to CD.
