J
jim was a song-writing role model for all of us in the early to mid seventies. He is still writing and performing today with his unique blend of pathos, humour and poetry. His recordings are hard to get hold of, and the tracks below were recorded a few years back in Andy’s studio. They are unrefined productions, but in my opinion communicate something of the power and originality of his material.

After a long stint with The Steve Gibbons Band, originating some of those distinctive interweaving guitar lines with Bob Wilson, Dave dedicated himself to playing and teaching classical guitar. Currently he plays in the band at the RSC.

These tracks were recorded recently in Andy’s studio as part of a long term project dedicated to guitar music in a variety of
styles.

Anyone around the Birmingham music scene in the late sixties and early seventies would have been aware of Jim and Dave, two outstanding talents who often worked together to produce material of great originality. The early Loris often shared bills with them and drew inspiration from their playing and song-writing.
