When Phil and Martin and I got together a couple of years ago ago to put the albums together, it was a welcome opportunity to renew old acquaintance and try to recapture some of that enthusiasm that consumed us for a few years a quarter of a century ago. The music of Slender Loris was always a minority taste, but we were constantly made aware that there were still people around who remembered and cherished the memory of the band. Purely as a historical record, if nothing else, it seemed worthwhile to put something up on the Internet - the history of a band that “never made it” but was arguably rather good, and certainly interesting and original. It’s not for us to judge, but we think the music stands the test of time.

I have tried to put together a coherent picture of the band from memories and the scraps of information that remain from that period. I hope that there are people out there who have more material we might incorporate in time.

Anyone interested in the albums, which have sold steadily over the last two years, should contact me through the Buy Albums page. There’s plenty of stuff you can download as lo fi MP3s, but clearly the CDs sound better.

Footnote: now it’s two years on -(2004 ) and we’ve been able to build up a great contact list of old and new fans. The site is getting plenty of hits and in the near future, we’re going to revamp the whole thing in a more sophisticated way. We all appreciate your interest, which has helped to keep the legend alive.
